On the 17th June, a delegation comprising of the NGO Desk officer and entourage from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security (MAFFS) visited ENGIM office to see the activities undertaken in Agriculture.
On arrival in Lunsar ENGIM’s Country Director took some time to explain to them on what ENGIM is doing in the Agriculture sector. He told them about the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) Moringa tree cultivation and utilization and our seed rice recovery project.
The SRI system was introduced to the farmers in several communities and asked to visit the Buya Romende Chiefdom in Rogbaran village where SILC members are also participating in the SRI project.
ENGIM staff, Cotton Tree Foundation staff and the visitors went to the village of Rogbaran to see firsthand what the community people are doing in the SRI project and the SILC.
It was impressive and urged community to continue the good work.
