The Project Manager and the Project Logistics’ Officer visited the sites to demarcate the different positions for the Triage & Isolation Unit, the MCHP, and the Tower for the water Tank, Latrine and the Waste management area. During these visits, the communities were also busy Stumping and leveling the land.
Prior to the deployment of the three Contractors on the various Sites, MAECI - 3 Project Manager (Stefano Depretto) took the Contractors to their different construction sites in order to explain to them what the entire work will involve on the ground and it was time for them to get familiarized with the community.
All The three Contractors are now on site and work is in progress. They started with the setting out on Monday August 1st and excavation work is now in progress. The paramount chief of Koya Chiefdom (PC Bai Kompa Bomboli ii) was with ENGIM when we formally introduced and handed over the contractor and Team to Makali community. He spoke at length and centered his address on the essence and importance of any meaningful development.
He advised them to be very collaborative in the construction process and call on them to improve on the road linking the Highway to their community. PC Bai Kompa Bomboli II and site contractors erected the first corner peg of the Triage in Makali. To date, the level of collaboration in Makali and Mayombo communities is good especially in Mayombo community, who are really demonstrating that the MCHP is a felt need in their community.
Mamusa Community is still dragging its feet. Thanks to Madam Isha Daramy Kabia who has been very instrumental in getting them to understand what development is all about. Much progress has been made in transporting materials to the different sites for the construction and the contractors are already working.
